LUMEN: Low-light Unified Multi-stage Enhancement Network to Improve RetinaFace-Based Face Detection

Abstrak:
Face detection in low-light conditions remains challenging due to underexposure, noise, and unstable contrast, which significantly degrade the performance of convolutional-based models. Conventional enhancement techniques, such as Histogram Equalization, Contrast-Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization (CLAHE), and Low-Light Image Enhancement (LIME), often improve brightness but introduce visual artifacts and lack robustness for face detection. This study proposes Low-light Unified Multi-stage Enhancement Network (LUMEN), a lightweight multi-stage image enhancement pipeline designed as a preprocessing module to improve RetinaFace-based face detection under low-light conditions. LUMEN integrates Multiscale Retinex with Color Restoration, adaptive gamma correction, CLAHE-based local contrast enhancement, controlled image fusion, and Non-Local Means denoising to jointly stabilize illumination, preserve texture, and maintain visual naturalness. The method is evaluated on a low-light subset of the Human Faces Object Detection Dataset using RetinaFace. Detection performance is assessed using detection rate and confidence score, while visual quality is evaluated using no-reference metrics such as the Natural Image Quality Evaluator (NIQE) and the Blind/Referenceless Image Spatial Quality Evaluator (BRISQUE). Experimental results show that LUMEN achieves a face detection rate of 91% with a high confidence score (0.9545), rep-resenting an improvement of 33 percentage points over raw low-light images (58%), while maintaining detection performance comparable to CLAHE, which ranks as the second-best method, LUMEN delivers superior perceptual quality, evidenced by the lowest BRISQUE score, as well as more stable visual appearance with reduced noise amplification and fewer contrast artifacts in low-light facial regions. LUMEN also achieves the lowest BRISQUE score, indicating superior texture preservation and perceptual stability. Ablation studies confirm that Retinex and CLAHE are the most critical components for detection robustness, while gamma correction, fusion, and denoising mainly contribute to visual naturalness. These results demonstrate that LUMEN provides an effective and practical preprocessing solution for low-light face detection.

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) ini dilakukan dengan melakukan proses implementasi serta pelatihan aplikasi manajemen aset di Gereja Protestan Maluku (GPM) Jemaat Ihamahu-Betfage. Unit Sekolah Minggu GPM Jemaat Ihamahu-Betfage terus bertumbuh dan membutuhkan aplikasi manajemen aset untuk mengelola dan mengarsipkan aset-aset yang dimiliki. Tahapan PkM ini adalah perencanaan dan pelaksanaan yang melibatkan dosen serta mahasiswa Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana serta Guru-guru Sekolah Minggu. Tahap pelaksanaan diawali dengan setting server dan implementasi aplikasi manajemen aset gereja yang menerapkan teknologi Progressive Web Application sehingga memiliki kelebihan reliabel, cepat, dan menarik. Pelatihan dilakukan dengan metode workshop selama satu hari. Berdasarkan evaluasi yang dilakukan pasca pelatihan didapatkan bahwa kegiatan PkM ini telah berjalan efektif dengan aplikasi yang diimplementasikan mudah digunakan dan membantu proses manajemen aset unit Sekolah Minggu.

<p>Good local government performance, especially related to the realization of good corporate governance, can be created if there is good communication between agencies, employees and compact collaboration to synergize policies that facilitate public services. To optimize government performance, one of which is the Boyolali District Archives and Library Service through collaborative relationships between employees so as to create intense two-way communication. This study aims to identify social networks related to collaboration between employees using the Social Network Analysis method and a total of 40 people as respondents, but only 32 people filled out the questionnaire data completely. The indicators used in viewing the research results are density values, degree centrality values, closeness centrality values, betweenness centrality values, and clique values. The results of the analysis obtained a network density level of 14.8% (considered weak because it is less than 50 percent). Employee number 21 has the highest degree centrality value and betweenness centrality value, then employee number 9 has the highest closeness centrality. This research concludes that there is a good collaborative relationship between the four departments in the Archives and Library Office of Boyolali Regency, namely the Operations department, the Service department, the Archives department, and the Librarian department. </p>

Financial technology (fintech) merupakan perkembangan teknologi yang memudahkan transaksi keuangan di era digital saat ini. Salah satu aplikasi fintech dalam layanan mobile banking yaitu aplikasi BRI Mobile (BRImo). Pengguna aplikasi BRImo masih belum sepenuhnya percaya terhadap keamanan fitur BRImo ketika menarik uang tunai tanpa kartu di Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) karena adanya cybercrime seperti kasus penipuan online. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisa keamanan dan kepuasan pengguna terhadap fitur tarik tunai cardless pada aplikasi BRImo. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode framework PIECES dengan lima aspek yaitu Performance, Information and Data, Control and Security, Efficiency, serta Service. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menyebarkan kuesioner dan diolah dengan bantuan software Smart Partial Least Squares (Smart-PLS) versi 3.0. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas layanan serta informasi data pada fitur tarik tunai cardless BRImo memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap Control and Security serta kepuasan pengguna BRImo.

Abstrak:
This study aimed to measure the quality of the Disaster Mitigation Information System (Sikabi) belonging to the Regional Disaster Management Authority of Boyolali Regency. Quality tests are carried out to determine the quality and functionality of the system that functions optimally and can display accurate, easily accessible, and useful information for disaster mitigation in the region. The results of the study are useful for providing feedback to information system developers regarding the quality of the website usability aspect, the quality of the information presented, and the quality of the interactions provided as well as the user satisfaction at accessing the Disaster Information System website. This study uses the Webqual 4.0 method which has 4 assessment variables, namely in terms of usability (information quality), interaction service (interaction quality), and user satisfaction while accessing the website (overall impression). From the research results, the information quality variable has a sig value. 0,000 <0,05 which indicates that there is an influence of information quality on user satisfaction in using the Sikabi website. Therefore, we recommend improving the quality of the information displayed on the Sikabi website page.

Performance assessment system is a reference of school to determine the performance quality of a teacher that also a reference to determine their career development and career promotion. The teacher has to improve their skills and ability to apply the competence to improve the quality of the learning process. The expansion of performance assessment information system in SMK Taruna Tama Getasan Salatiga will help the assessor to make performance assessment report because the previous method they used conventional system that hinder the process of the rating like a difficult calculation and take so much time. This system use Soft System Methodology (SSM) by using structured approach to understand some issues, build conceptual mode, get eligibility and the implementation. System testing use Webqual 4.0 and using 3 (three) instruments are Usability Quality, Information Quality and Service Interaction Quality. By using 122 that processed by SPSS software which testing the validity test, reliability and linear regression correlation. From the test result that the website of performance assessment system are having a good quality based on Usability Quality, Information Quality and Service Interaction Quality.

Information security problems always increase every year. One way to minimize problems related to information system security is to establish an SOP. This study was conducted in koperasi simpan pinjam for several reasons that there has never been an assessment related to the level of security of the information system used, there are threatshave occured, and there do not have documented information system security procedures. The SOPs compiled in this study are based on the ISO/IEC 27002:2013 framework. The method used is qualitative with the OCTAVE framework to process the information obtained. Meanwhile, to calculate the value of each risk, FMEA is used. This study shows that 22% of the risks invloved in koperasi simpan pinjam have low categories, 59% medium categories and 19% high categories. The final result of the stiff research is the proposed 8 policies and 12 information system security procedures for koperasi simpan pinjam.

Kampus Notohamidjojo merupakan kampus yang tergolong masih baru yang digunakan oleh Fakultas Teknologi Informasi Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana. Gedung ini berdiri 3 tahun lalu, meskipun gedung ini masih baru tetapi sudah ada beberapa kerusakan dari infrastruktur, fasilitas laboratorium komputer dan furniture. Pihak yang menangani hal tersebut adalah bagian sarana dan prasarana fakultas. Sarana dan prasarana dari fakultas mengalami kendala ketika melakukan pengelolaan kerusakan yang ada, maka dari itu dengan berkembangnya teknologi yang semakin maju banyak platform yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk melakukan pengelolaan kerusakan tersebut. Platform yang digunakan yaitu smartphone Android dan website. Perancangan sistem ini menggunakan platform Android untuk melakukan proses pelaporan kerusakan dan website digunakan untuk melakukan manajemen kerusakan. Perancangan ini difokuskan untuk membuat desain antarmuka aplikasi yang user-friendly. Desain yang diterapkan menggunakan metode Human Centered Design (HCD) karena dengan menggunakan metode ini dapat menghasilkan antarmuka yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan pengguna. Perancangan ini juga menggunakan teknologi dari Hybrid yang dimana dengan menggunakan teknologi tersebut sistem ini dapat berjalan di Android dan iOS. Pengujian terhadap antarmuka dilakukan menggunakan metode End User Computing Satisfaction (EUCS) dengan mendapatkan hasil lebih dari 90,0 yang menandakan bahwa perancangan sistem pelaporan kerusakan menggunakan metode HCD dan EUCS ini valid dan mampu untuk memenuhi kebutuhan yang diperlukan dari pihak sarana dan prasarana Fakultas Teknologi Informasi.
